It was so sad to hear of the passing of one of my favourite film critics. Ebert was a gent and a truly great man.

And following on from the last post, of course you really can't beat some practical effects. If you can afford it of course.
We've been working a lot with chroma keying over the last while, testing out new techniques and approaches to green screen filming and compositing etc, but as the video below shows, especially on the tower apt set, that it saves the VFX Dept a lot of time correcting colour imbalances and other stuff.

Here's a link to an amazing view, side by side, of green screen work on Final Destination 5. Now I'm certainly not a fan of any of them bar the 1st film, but this is an excellent grasp of how much green screen is used in 'smaller' shots, which goes unrecognised most of the time. And also some of the work here is fantastic! Really interesting watch.
